Yummy Salmon, Great Benefits!

Including Salmon in your diet is not only delicious and versatile, it has tons of benefits for your health!

Here are some of them:

  •  Excellent source of Omega-3 fatty acids that help reduce inflammation, control your blood pressure and cholesterol levels, therefore, it helps you take care of your heart.
  •  Excellent source of B vitamins. These vitamins are needed for energy production and to control inflammation. It also helps take care of your heart and brain.
  •  Eating salmon can help with weight control. It’s a great source of protein which helps prevent muscle loss and helps the body heal after injury. It helps increasing insulin sensitivity and decreasing belly fat. It keeps you full and reduces your appetite.
  •  Fatty fish, including salmon, help reduce inflammation caused by several diseases. Eating them helps us improve chronic conditions and their symptoms.
  • High in Selenium and Potassium. Selenium is a mineral that helps with thyroid function and bone protection.  Potassium helps control your blood pressure and prevents excess of fluid retention.

Ok, let’s get to the recipe!


Ingredients:

6 Skin-on Salmon fillets

5 Tablespoons of melted butter

1 Tablespoon of honey

2 Lemon juice

Chopped parsley

Lemon slices

Salt and Pepper as needed 

 

Instructions:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 375°F and line your baking tray with non-stick foil.
2. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the tray and season with salt and pepper.
3. Mix the melted butter, parsley, honey, and lemon juice in a bowl.
4. Pour this mixture over the fillets and garnish with the lemon slices.
5. Bake for 20 minutes or until salmon is done.


Serve it with mashed potatoes, fresh salad or whatever vegetable you prefer.
